HR – Data protection

Many data protection issues are based in the employer-employee relationship. It is therefore important for employers to understand their rights and obligations when it comes to collection and processing of personal data. Handling employee data correctly will contribute to ensuring a harmonious and smooth-running working relationship.

At the same time, technological developments and the widespread use of social networks such as Facebook have brought new challenges for employers in terms of data protection law.

Norrbom Vinding has expertise within all areas of data protection law. The areas we advise on include:

  • Implementation of data protection policies
  • Monitoring of employees (e-mail and internet usage, CCTV, etc.)
  • Notification of processing for staff administration purposes to the Danish Data Protection Agency
  • Transfer of personal data to group companies, in connection with outsourcing and to third countries
  • Binding Corporate Rules (BCR)
  • Whistleblower systems
  • Social media and data protection law
  • Preparation for and assistance in connection with inspections by the Danish Data Protection Agency
  • Compliance with the duty to inform data subjects and handling of access requests
  • Assistance with complaints before the Danish Data Protection Agency
  • General data protection law advice
